Pastel and digital. These are jaw dropping. The attention to detail and technique is admireable.

"I have been battling for quite some time now to have my style of art (Digital Art) accepted in the wildlife art world. I have won many awards, been juror for large art competitions & sold numerous paintings but have been turned away from every wildlife art society and most galleries because my art has been done digitally.
It is so frustrating.  I paint exactly the same way. Instead of a standard brush I use a digital brush, instead of a canvas I paint onto my tablet. The end result is a Giclee stretched canvas print (with pigment inks) that will not fade for 100-200 years.
Funny how lithography or silk screening like Warhol is art but using a digital brush is not. I guess I have chosen a style that is new and will still take many years before it is completely accepted." - Paul Miners

Minister denies shift on planning policy proposal

This makes me a tiny bit angry. If only people could keep it in their pants there wouldn't be this issue! So much more habitats will be destroyed.

My illustrations

I think I might be finally getting to grips with digital illustrations now! I started trying to mix graphite pencils and water colour and then scanning to fill in on photoshop, however I soon found out that despite creating some interesting mixes it was difficult to create the texture from watercolour paper and still keep the pencil smooth. I also found it difficult to keep the paper flat after using the watercolour and frequently had issues scanning the work. Therefore I stopped using the watercolours and focused on graphite pencils. I think this is working to my advantage. I am really enjoying practicing my illustrations and seeing the progress!

I miss Chundu and Chete!

Zimbabwe Lion rehabilitation project - African Impact

This was by far the best experience of my life! From getting on all the flights on my own to walking into a group of strangers who, by the end of my trip were like family. We spent most of each day with the lions getting to know their personalities and habbits, it was so sureal at first! Obviously being with the lions was the highlight of the trip however, being in the community was also extremely rewarding. We visited the local Orphanage every Saturday where up to 60 kids spend the day playing and get given their food. It was really interesting but also very sad to see so many familys broken due to disease and poverty.
I went horse riding into a heard of Zebras and cantered through a watering hole, rode an elephant and went to sleep to the sound of lions roaring. We took a trip to Antelope park which was between Bulawayo and Harare, this was a good insite to how the rest of Zimbabwe live outside of Victoria Falls. I cried when I left :(!
